Smooth, Grained & Antiqued
Leather is, and always has been, the car upholstery material of choice for drivers of automotive vehicles. We source high quality automotive leather hides in a range of colours and finishes.
The leather hides we use are stronger than upholstery leather, durable enough to withstand the type of usage experienced within a car. The hides are strong enough not to stretch, avoiding poor finishes associated with lower quality leathers. All of our leather is tanned to the highest automotive quality. Colour dependant, these leathers originate from Italy, France or Scotland.
Approximate Hide sizes range between 40 square foot and 60 square foot.Colours
Widely used on many Classic cars, and is still is very popular with modern day cars. It features a print grain pattern on the leather.
"Smooth" Natural Grain
This is the natural look of leather, and it as widely used by Jaguar during the era of the 1940s to 1980s. This smooth finish has been manufactured to replicate the original Connolly Vaumol leather used on several British Vintage Classic Cars manufacturers. This is the appearance of leather prior to any print pattern grain being embossed onto it. Although this leather gives a beautiful finish, it is worth noting that smooth leather is harder to maintain as any scuffs and creases easily show up.
This finish has been manufactured to replicate the original leather used on some British Vintage Classic Cars made during the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, especially the within the Jaguar range. The antiqued colours we supply have a black overprint to give it an antique effect.
